Child Haven

Child Haven took shape in 1985 in the minds and hearts of Fred and Bonnie Cappuccino, parents of 21 children, 19 of whom were adopted. Fred, a retired Unitarian minister, together with his wife Bonnie, established and run seven homes in India, Bangledesh, Tibet, and Nepal, and Tibet. They now house and school over 1000 children plus some adults. The homes were founded on a Ghandian philosophy and the original religion of each of each child is maintained. Volunteers from other countries are recruited and trained.

KUF became involved in 2002 when the first dinner and auction was held in Kingston and organized by KUF at The Senior's Centre. Later the gatherings were held at St. Margaret's United Church, and more recently at Memorial Hall in the Kingston City Hall where you'll find us again on March 31.

Come join us on March 31 at Memorial Hall in the Kingston City Hall for a fun evening of Indian culture featuring food, music, dance, and a silent auction of Indian goods. Bring your friends. Tickets will be on sale at KUF starting in January.
